On 14 March 2023, the keel was laid for an 8000 m3 liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker ship being built by RMK Shipyard in Tuzla, Turkey. Owner and operator LNG Shipping, a partnership between Victor and Sogestran, commissioned MAN Rollo to supply two gas generator sets. The LNG bunker vessel will be deployed by Shell in the second quarter of 2024, supplying LNG around the ports of Zeebrugge, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To use boil-off gas (BOG) for on-board power generation, LNG Shipping opted for two MAN EU Stage-V certified generator sets. Specifically, the boil-off gas, which is normally released to regulate pressure and temperature in the tank, is now captured. As a result, this gas is sustainably available for energy supply on board the ship using MAN Rollo generator sets. Delivering both an environmentally conscious and safe choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As distribution of liquefied gas (LNG) is becoming increasingly important, a good LNG infrastructure is an absolute must. Karel Schuurman, account manager Marine at MAN Rollo: “By equipping LNG bunker vessels with a BOG combustion system, we are responding to the fast-growing need to expand the LNG distribution network.
